Only 3 riders braved the wind, Alan, Roger and Declan. We decided to head into the wind towards Tain on the back roads and found it hard going on the exposed sections. Other than the headwind it was fine and dry until just before Tain when we got hit by a mini blizzard. The driving snow forced a temporary halt as the visibility had dropped to a couple of yards and faces and eyes were sore. The shower passed and we struggled on to the Co-op where a welcome hot drink and pasty awaited.

The sun came out for a while and the road surface improved enough for a fast run back down the Scotsburn road and home for a welcome warm up.
